case you want to read it now, we suggest you to become our patron on
September 1 so you aren’t charged two times in 3 days (since our page is an UP FRONT one). That being said… it’ll be a long comic. Something between 20-25 pages. We’re planning to release the first 8 within September’s first two weeks; in the meanwhile, we’ll work on other things, OD included.
Mysterious Comic I Still Didn’t Think A Name For - Page 1, teaser
We have been quite busy in the last four weeks. After J, we started to work on a new comic as reward for our dear patrons, the first page of which is the one I present you in this post. I got the unwholesome idea two months ago, but I meant to make something of this sort for a long, looong time.
Our most devoted readers should instantly recognize which comic this new work serves as sequel for. For those who don’t know, well… one day you’ll know. 😌
You cand find this page, alongs with the next ones (which won’t be posted here) on our Patreon page, 👉 here.
The first part of the complete comic will be also posted on Patreon soon, but only for Brownies tier. For more information, you can consult this post.
See you soon with maybe a certain story I’m writing about a certain young vixen well, something. Very soon, I hope. 😉
If you are from Zootopia’s fandom, please don’t mistake Cynthia Walker for “Skye”. Read this journal for more info: Issues with Cynthia’s identity
The name “Jack Savage” and the character’s basic appearance and job belong to Zootopia’s discharged early concept; however, everything that concerns his characterization, background, relationships and new design is up to AoiRemArt.
Despite the not-so-optimistic premises, Jack was relieved that the rest of the meeting could be carried out without too many hitches, allowing him to acquire a detailed knowledge of the nature of his mission and get a more accurate idea of the work that awaited him.
The operation provided for a minimum stay abroad of three months and the assumption of a second identity until the end of the work; moreover, as Walker had already anticipated, the support provided to him by the Agency would have been minimal and mostly by communication – which basically meant that there would be no one to cover his shoulders physically. The hare could now understand the scruples of the two mammals and not see them as a lack of trust in him; however, it didn’t change the fact that Jack had already made his decision, with no intention of pulling back; he hadn’t chosen to become an Agent to pick flowers in the field, and he intended to point this fact out whenever he could.
After giving the documents Walker had given him at the end of the meeting one last reading, Jack pushed himself away from the wall on which he was leaning and looked around. It was almost noon, and the floor was nearly deserted, just like the rest of the building. No wonder, considering what time of year it was. Few mammals would have worked during the Christmas holidays, a choice that seemed to Jack as logical as it was far away from his lifestyle.
In fact, he had no particular reasons to not work on holidays: he lacked a family to return to, nor did he have a partner to spend his free time with.
However, he thought that Walker did.
A family, the Colonel’s family, and even a fiancé – as beautiful as she was, objectively speaking, it was unlikely that the vixen wasn’t dating anyone. And yet, judging by the amount of work she had flawlessly done in preparation for the mission that awaited them, it could be concluded that she had spent the last month between internal investigations and masterminding the upcoming operation, allowing herself only a few moments off…
if any.
Walker was a workaholic, just as much as he was, although one of a different kind. Jack shouldn’t have been surprised, and yet something didn’t quite sit well with him. Why wouldn’t she put to use the winter holidays to rest, instead of…

“It’s not acceptable; simply not acceptable.” Jack Savage’s grievances could be heard in the deserted hallway as he stalked toward the Colonel’s office with his paws shoved in the depths of his pocket. “When did the organizing of this place start to leave this much to be desired?”
Behind him, a certain arctic vixen was tagging along with him, struggling a bit to keep his brisk pace. She listened to his voice, usually so calm and collected, coloring itself with indignation, and a resigned smile couldn’t help but curl her lips as she said: “You’re not exaggerating things just a little? It’ll only be for a few days, you don’t need to…”
Pivoting on the heel of his right foot-paw, Jack turned to her, quick as a gust of wind. “I had specifically asked not to be assigned to any mission without you, for the time being”, the hare asserted, frowning with clear dissatisfaction, “and I absolutely won’t compromise on this matter.”
“Jack…”
“No, it’s a point of principle. I’ve clearly stated to the CEO my intention to not leave your side, given the current situation, and I distinctly remember I had been granted this request, ergo…” Jack went on rambling, exposing the reasons for his protest with the utmost punctuality. Cynthia nodded, repeatedly, secretly flattered by all that eagerness but unable to share it with him ultimately. He would have to leave for four days and, of course, Cynthia knew it would be four long days for both of them, but… how could she, even for a split second, be dissatisfied while looking at his indignation? He was so precious that… “… Cynthia?” The hare stopped in his tracks and watched her as his expression slowly changed from discontent to abashment. “W… what are you doing?”
“Nothing”, she replied, despite the distance between their muzzles having just shortened by a good four inches, “Just listening to your ranting.”
As far as he knew, what had just come out of Hawkeye’s mouth could very well be a blatant lie. It would have been no surprise, really, given what kind of mammal the panther was.
Given whom he had decided to share that piece of information with, also. But Cynthia Walker didn’t sound too convinced when she replied with a polite, but rather unenthusiastic, “Um…‘Happy birthday’?” which almost managed to draw a laugh out of Jack as he kept walking to the other side of the hallway. He hadn’t meant to be a bystander of Hawkeye’s little comedy skit, neither had he wanted to be; however, the hare couldn’t refrain himself from tossing a glance behind his back to the black & white duo moving in the opposite direction to his.
Unfortunately, the picture didn’t quite appeal to him.
“How about you keep me company for lunch?” Jack heard the panther saying, “I know this place where…”
“I’m sorry, Alexander, but I already have an appointment scheduled for lunchtime.”
“Well, how about dinner, then?”
‘Already came up with a backup plan, huh?’ Jack frowned and clicked his tongue, a wave of irritation crashing against him at the sound of that flippant proposal ringing through his ears.
“Well… I’ll consider the offer”, Cynthia said, an unexpected hint of interest coloring her reply, “I can’t give you any guarantees now, though.”
“Oh, the fact alone that you didn’t turn me down on the spot is already an accomplishment”, he joked with a light chuckle. “So, about that place I mentioned…”
Jack was seriously baffled. ‘So, all it takes to get a date with you is food, Walker. You’re that gluttonous?’ It was so simple that even he could have done it, if he’d wanted to.
(He didn’t, by the way.)
Eventually, Jack reached the corner of the hallway and turned it with a sigh. The conversation between the panther and the snow-white vixen was likely to last for a little bit longer, but, unfortunately, his time was up and he wouldn’t have the pleasure of listening to it until the end.
However, and very much against his will, Hawkeye’s blatant and pestiferous flirt had the side effect of reminding Jack of his own birthday, which was in just a couple of months. He wondered how it would’ve been to spend that day with someone else, but easily found the answer as soon as he tried to picture the idea in his mind.
A mammal like him… there was no way he could belong to such an ordinary scenario.
No way could he be allowed to.
07/11 is Hawkeye’s birthday! And also time for Jack to get a little bit depressed, which is… not good, but well, he’ll get over that eventually.
A snippet for this drawing was mandatory; lines alone weren’t enough to convey Jack’s disapproval.

It was something Cynthia couldn’t quite put into words, how reassuring his back was in her eyes at that moment.
It had always been, to be fair, even when she wasn’t willing to admit those feelings – although they definitely were there. But now… “Do you want me to hold her?”
“That’s not necessary”, Jack simply replied, “she’s not heavy at all.”
“Yeah, well, I never doubted that…” Cynthia made a little sigh as her gaze kept wandering loose around that back. It wasn’t big – or more specifically, it wasn’t from the prospect of a fox – and yet, it still was wide enough for her to feel the urge to bury her face in the fabric of his shirt. “You know, Cynthia likes you a lot. She was really happy that you came along with us, today.”
“…” He remained silent for a moment, before eventually asking: “Which Cynthia are we talking about?” His tone was still cool, but it sounded a bit teasing around the edges. Maybe… a bit wishful, too, which caused her whole body to burn and her fur to inflate, just like a roasted marshmallow.
“Oh, come on…” She released a half chuckle, to conceal the sweet embarrassment warming her words, “What kind of question is this?”
“Well”, Jack pondered, still walking with Cynthia’s little sister tenderly sleeping in his arms, “Just, you know… to make sure of it.”
“Dummy”, she murmured softly, and she clearly saw his ears twitching even so slightly, and could only imagine the expression he was wearing behind his calm appearance.
She kind of loved that side of him.
So, um, well… do you remember this sketch? Almost two months passed since we posted it here, and as usual I forgot to publish the colored version too, which at first was meant for our patrons.
Also, this version is bundled with a little snippet I decided to write when I saw the final drawing, hope you’ll like it, too. 😏
(This little piece has no context right now, but if I had to give it one, I’d say one year from now - with “now” being J’s last chapter)
